  • Can i take payments over the phone?

    Yes. All our card terminals support Card Not Present transactions.

  • How will you support my card terminal?

    Our freephone helpdesk is available 7 days a week and if your terminal is not working, we will send you a new one.

  • Do any other payment fees apply?

    No. With Octalas, whether you choose our Pay As You Go or Pay Monthly options, there are no setup fees or hidden costs for taking payments. For PCI-DSS compliance certification you can optionally choose our simple Safer-payments PCI service, but you are free to supply certification details from another provider.

  • Is there a fee for charge-backs

    We do everything we can to help you to avoid charge-backs – find out more about how to do this here. However if a charge-back does occur, an administration fee of €15 applies. (This will be returned to you if the charge-back is unsuccessful.

  • My terminal is not turning on or the screen is not lighting up

    Unplug power, wait for ten seconds and then reconnect. Check all cables are firmly connected or battery pack is firmly in place. Check internet or phone line is working.

    Our mobile card terminal battery will last up to 8 hours on a single charge (when taking back to back payments). The battery life will last longer if not in constant use.

    Yes. All our card terminals have contactless built-in including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.

    We’ll attempt to charge your card for the invoice over the next 7 days. Post this period, unpaid accounts will be locked, losing feature access. However, later payments will restore your account along with all its data and settings.

  • What if a subscription payment fails but my card has enough funds?

    Most often, the bank rejects card payments despite having sufficient funds, due to lack of authorization for online transfers, exceeded limits, or temporary technical errors. In such cases: Check if online payments are enabled on your card. If not, enable this option. Verify if you haven’t exceeded the daily or monthly limit for online transactions. If you have, consider increasing the limit. The system will automatically attempt the payment again after a few hours. Alternatively, you can go to Settings → Payment Cards and manually retry the payment by pressing “Re-try payment.” If the issue persists, try using another card ...

On the other hand, plan downgrade or cancellation becomes effective at the end of the current billing period.

  • When does the billing cycle start and how long does it last?

    The billing cycle starts on the day of your subscription plan purchase and repeats on the same day of each month. The billing period always lasts for a full month, regardless of the number of days in that month.
